While signing an executive order on Friday mandating chip-and-pin technology on all federal government credit and debit cards, the president revealed that his card was declined at a restaurant in New York City last month.
“It turned out I guess I don’t use it enough, so they thought there was some fraud going on,” Obama said, adding that, thankfully, First Lady Michelle Obama picked up the check. “I was trying to explain to the waitress, ‘No really, I think that I’ve, uh, been paying my bills.’ So even I’m affected by this.”

Last Saturday I was able to meet up with Congressional candidate Bobby Schilling. We were able to have a brief conversation as I introduced him to one of my foster children. I’ve always been impressed with Congressman Schilling and this little meeting was no different. Bobby is someone who genuinely cares about people and families and the struggles they face. In the midst of our encounter I felt like he cared for my family in particular. I loved the way he played with my child and shared a little about his family. It’s my honor to once again cast my vote for Bobby Schilling this November!
